Announcements from the November 22, 2011 Faculty Meeting


1) Schedule of Remaining Regular Faculty Meetings, Fall 2011

•December 16, Review Committee Reports (DA Media)
–Note:  This meeting begins after all Review Committees are finished.


2) Schedule of Regular Faculty Meetings, Spring 2011

•January 13   Transfer/New Student Advising (11:00-12:00) and Faculty Meeting (1:30-4:00 in DA Media)
•January 23
•February 21
•March 21
•April 19
•May 11, Review Committee Reports (DA Media)

This schedule is subject to change. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings will be held in Myers Auditorium and will begin at 12:10 p.m. and adjourn no later than 1:00 p.m.


3) Exhibition receptions
*  Friday December 2 receptions for BFA 5 - 7 pm Rust Hall and MFA 6 - 9 pm Hyde Gallery


4)  Visiting Artists
* Last visiting artist of the semester Thursday December 8, Callicott 7pm Sarah Perkins, metal artist, featured artist in Tributaries series at the Metal Museum


5) At Risk Students or Students who are Transferring or Leaving

•As the end of the semester approaches, if you have students that you know are at risk for dropping out of MCA or that are planning to leave MCA for any reason, please let Susan Miller know.  smiller@mca.edu

•Also, if you see students at Review Committees who seem to be struggling, let Susan know.

•Susan and her staff will try to intervene where appropriate.
  

6) Elesha Newberry  (please note: this announcement was written by Elesha before she had her baby. so some of the information is now incorrect)

•Elesha’s last day before she begins her leave is December 2, 2011.

•From December 5 until late February/early March, Anna Vargas will be taking over the position of Registrar and all inquiries for the Registrar should be directed to avargas@mca.edu or registrar@mca.edu

•If there are any long term projects that involve Elesha specifically, talk to her BEFORE she goes on leave.

•Don’t bother Elesha during her leave except to say CONGRATULATIONS!


7) Enrichment Grant Application Deadline

•Application deadline for Faculty Enrichment funds is December 15, 2011.

•Please direct questions to Ken Strickland.


8) Announcement for all Faculty Teaching in Myers, Callicott,
D.A. Media, and LS Classroom

•When you leave your class all media equipment including computers, cords, and adaptors should be locked in their respective cupboards or closets.

•All projectors must be turned OFF.

•The doors to Myers and D.A. Media must be locked.
