Announcements from the Faculty Meeting of October 26, 2011

1) Schedule of Remaining Regular Faculty Meetings, Fall 2011

noted, all meetings will be held in Myers Auditorium and

will begin at 12:10 p.m. and adjourn no later than

1:00 p.m.

2) Holiday Bazaar

•PLEASE respond to Jennifer Sargent’s e-mail about the Holiday Bazaar Schedule!

•Let Jennifer know whether you can work the days/times that have been assigned to you.

3) At Risk Students or Students who are Transferring or Leaving

•If you have students that you know are at risk for dropping out of MCA or that are planning to leave MCA for any reason, please let Susan Miller know.  smiller@mca.edu

•Susan and her staff will try to intervene where appropriate.

4) New Library Catalog

The library has a new catalog! Located here: http://mca.kohalibrary.com  In the new catalog, you may create course reserves, patrons will be able to renew books themselves, and you may 'browse' the library shelves from the catalog.  If you are interested in creating course reserves in the catalog you can just send me a list of what you'd like on reserve for each course. Please include course name/number in your information. To see an example click on Course Reserves from the main page of the catalog.  Currently I can only put items already in the catalog on reserve.  There will also be a designation for the MCA Main library and the Art Ed Resource Center to make it easier to locate items. Anyone interested in their login information can contact me at lholland@mca.edu.

6) Enrichment Grant Application Deadline

·      Application deadline for Faculty Enrichment funds is December 15, 2011.

·      Please direct questions to Ken Strickland.

7) Announcement for all Faculty Teaching in Myers, Callicott,
DA Media, and LS Classroom

·      When you leave your class all media equipment including computers, cords, and adaptors should be locked in their respective cupboards or closets.

·      All projectors must be turned OFF.

·      The doors to Myers and D.A. Media must be locked.
