4)  Invitation from Cara Sievers
Cara Sievers, the new Director of College Communications, would like to invite any and all faculty to stop be her office for an introductory chat. She writes: “I really want to become an ally to faculty in every way possible, so I want everyone to know that my door is always open.”

5)  MCA Virtual Bookstore and NEW Deadline for Ordering
MCA Virtual Bookstore will be using a virtual online bookstore.  Students can purchase or rent new and used books.  Students will eventually be able to use future refund money to buy textbooks in advance (no more waiting on refund checks!!). All MCA textbooks will be required to be purchased through the bookstore. Only books that for some reason cannot be offered by Follett can be obtained another way by our teachers.  (This doesn't mean students cannot use other sources for buying books, but we'd like to drive the traffic through this source.)

Everyone must log in and request books or click on “no materials required” for each class/section that you teach.

May 15, 2012 is the deadline for faculty to go online and order their texts.  This early deadline ensures our students better pricing.

If you were unable to attend the April 18 training session and need assistance using the virtual bookstore, please contact Ashley Walker for more information.

6) Number:Inc

Number: the regional journal of the visual arts needs supporter/sponsors through tax deductible donations.

Number: has been published for 25 years and currently provides quarterly coverage of the visual arts in TN, AR, and MS through its free publication. It is run completely by volunteers. Donations support the costs associated with printing and to pay writers. One way to think about donations is that $50 covers a regional update, $100 pays for a review, and $200 pays for a feature or interview.

All donations are tax deductible and sponsors of $25 or more are listed in each issue of Number. To make a donation, send a check to Number: Inc. PO Box 11008, Memphis, TN 38111-1008 or give to Jennifer Gonzales.
